Committee on Solid Earth Geophysics 

Submit your expert nomination or self-nomination to be considered for membership on the Committee on Solid Earth Geophysics (COSEG) by September 4, 2026.

The Committee on Solid Earth Geophysics (COSEG) brings together leaders across the geosciences to explore emerging research, identify scientific priorities, and strengthen connections between the research community and federal agencies. The committee examines topics spanning Earth's structure, dynamics, and evolution, as well as advances in instrumentation, research infrastructure, data and computation, education, workforce development, and public policy.

 

Up to three volunteer experts will be selected to serve three-year terms. Members help develop and organize public meetings on emerging topics in solid Earth geophysics, foster interdisciplinary dialogue, engage with federal agencies and professional societies, and help identify new opportunities for the committee's work.
